Señorita Sometimes Announces the Release of Their Highly-Anticipated Sophomore Album, Sakura
We are proud to announce the release of our sophomore album, Sakura, arriving on March 8th—International Women’s Day. This album is a reflection of our journey—raw, real, and packed with emotion. Each song carries meaning, and we can’t wait for you to experience it.
Sakura was written by our lead singer and songwriter, Stacy Sevelin, with the exception of “No Alibi,” co-written with our guitarist and back-up vocalist, Justin Maul. Stacy drew inspiration from the Japanese cherry blossom tree, Sakura, which blooms for only one to two weeks each year. “Sakura represents optimism, transience, positive change, and reflection,” says Stacy. “It’s about embracing the beauty of fleeting moments and taking advantage of the time we have.”
Crafted over several years, Sakura captures a range of emotions—from dark times to moments of light. “I don’t write just to write; every song has a point and a meaning behind it,” Stacy explains. This philosophy drives our music, ensuring every track has purpose and authenticity.
The album was brought to life by an incredible team: Stacy Sevelin (vocals), Justin Maul (guitar/bass/back-up vocals), Bobby Wessner (guitar), Alana Rolfe (viola), Shane Zweygardt (drums, theremin, audio engineer/mixer), and Jason Livermore (album master). Recording Sakura was a labor of love, beginning with live sessions to preserve our signature raw sound. “It’s important for us to keep it real and not overly polished,” says Stacy. From live drum tracking to layered instrumentals and dynamic vocals, we stayed true to our ethos of authenticity.
Señorita Sometimes is all about being loud, rowdy, and fun, blending the raw power of garage rock with themes of empowerment and self-expression. Releasing Sakura on International Women’s Day is especially meaningful to us, as this album embodies resilience, reflection, and strength. With Sakura, we invite you to embrace the fleeting beauty of life and find meaning in both joy and struggle.
Available on all streaming platforms, Sakura was released on March 8th, 2025 as a dedication to International Women’s Day.

“Sakura represents optimism, positive change, and embracing the fleeting beauty of life.”
